Propose a maintenance solution

I proposed and presented a palliative maintenance solution during the variable speed drive project.

To do this, I first had to understand the existing system. I used various documents, such as the user logistics documentation and modification orders, to familiarize myself with the system and understand what modifications had been made and why.

I then conducted a functional analysis of the system and proposed a new version of the wiring as well as a parameter plan. I then conducted an enclosure layout study using CAD.

I documented the entire process through various documents, which will help ensure the long-term viability of the system.

I thus proposed a preventive maintenance solution to ensure the operational readiness (or "to maintain the operational condition") of the submarines' variable speed drive cabinets.

During the electrical alternative project (B_MASSET_rapport_BUT2), I conducted a feasibility study for an electrical maneuvering assistance system. This constitutes an improvement/corrective maintenance action, because following a change, we are seeking to correct the problem, and by incorporating this solution, we are improving it.

Produce a maintenance procedure

During the variable speed drive project, I wrote an installation procedure that describes how to replace the obsolete drive with the palliative solution. This document is intended for the workshop. It first outlines how to disassemble the cabinet, then it lists the components to keep, remove, or add.

The entire reassembly procedure is then detailed, with the source and destination cable markers (repères de câbles tenant et aboutissant) as well as the figure references for the different sub-systems. Finally, the entire process for setting the parameters of the S6 drive is described.

Thanks to this document, I can affirm that I know how to produce a preventive maintenance procedure.

Provide technical support to various stakeholders at the national and international level

Over the past year, I have been able to provide technical support to various stakeholders, both nationally and internationally.

At Naval Group, I worked on a project to update parameter plans. Part of this work was subcontracted to Naval Group Toulon, allowing me to speak with various collaborators and show and explain to them, via meetings or email exchanges, how to modify the parameter plans and what the expectations (attendus) were. I was thus able to successfully complete this mission.

I learned to use a tool for managing definition, configuration, technical documentation, maintenance projects, and product support in MCO (Maintenance in Operational Condition). I learned to use this tool in order to share compliant files and be understood by other collaborators.

I also attended weekly meetings every Tuesday morning. Naval Group has its own language and its own acronyms; I continue to enrich my vocabulary day after day.

Diagnose a malfunction in a system / Identify the root cause of a malfunction

During the underwater watch project, I encountered various problems while verifying the prototype. When I transmitted a code from my phone, the Arduino board sent random characters to its serial port.

Thanks to the LEDs on the output of the DTMF decoder, I was able to see that the signal was being received correctly by the microphone and that the DTMF decoder was working correctly. I then hypothesized the problem was either the wiring or the program.

After verification, the wiring was correct; however, in the program, the program's inputs were inverted. I thus located the problem using the schematic and tests, and proposed a suitable solution.
